A Newborn Session Special!

Happy Anniversary!  As I approach my six month anniversary of moving HGP to my new studio (and 2 years in business) I'm bringing a brand new newborn session special to HGP for the month of March!

I have no idea how big that's going to show up on your screen.  So.  For the month of March, all newborn sessions that take place in March are 50% off.  I offer three packages (shoot me an e-mail via the contact page so I can send you my adorable PDF with package info), and all three are discounted for this month only.  For those that are due anytime the rest of the year, all packages will receive a 25% discount when retainer & contract are signed by March 31, 2016.

This is a special time in your life.  Tiring, but oh so amazing.

Do you love squishy babies?

One of my main goals with my newborn photography is capture the squish every. single. session.  Luckily, Beckett was more than willing to oblige.  How adorable is this little man?  I can't get enough of that hair!  And those cheeks!  Oh my!

Please remember, this pose was done safely under the watch of two trained photogs.  Please don't attempt without proper safety training!

Cute little story about Beckett.  I've been good friends with his aunt for many years.  I'll never forget the day she told me she was going to be an Auntie.  When she told me the exciting news, she could barely contain her excitement... or tears!  Rarely have I seen Ash cry, but the idea of being an aunt did her in!

Can decide which expression I like more!

As with every session, I try to customize the session for each client.

Bring on 2016

End of year posts are never easy to convey how I'm feeling.  You guys will never find an eloquent (or succinct) writer in me.  All I can say is thank you.  Thank you so much for your support, suggestions, feedback, and patronage.  I know there are literally a hundred other local photographers you could go to, but you chose me (or hopefully are reading this and considering hitting that contact page :)).

This year has been a huge learning curve.  Once my house hit max capacity for what it could hold, my husband and I decided it was time to open a studio and reclaim our "back room", garage, storage unit, etc...  While having the living space back has been amazing with an active two year old, having the new studio has been extremely intimidating.  I only hope and pray that 2016 is as blessed as 2015 was, and I'm sure we'll be fine.

The Sloan’s Wedding Day!

I totally jinxed myself.  I've been boasting how lucky I've been with the weather and weddings this year.  Steele & Andrea's day was projected to be AMAZING.  Which was great since we really wanted to get these farmers outside for their portraits.  Low and behold, as I'm driving to Shelbyville to the gorgeous Spruce Street, I reveled in the perfect cloud cover we have.  Bright sun and afternoon pictures don't combine terribly well, so the clouds were amazing.  Fast forward two hours: rain.  Luckily, the rain did not disrupt the day too terribly.

Andrea & Steele originally had plans to go to the family farm for their portraits (check out the engagement session that was on the farm).  Since the timeline wouldn't allow it, we ended up on the fairgrounds in Shelbyville to shoot the bridal portraits.  Amazingly, it had everything we needed for perfect pictures, and we had the go ahead to wander around and get all the pictures they envisioned on their wedding day.

Brian & Lane Engagement Session

Occasionally, I'll edit a session through the night because I can't put my computer down.  When I do this, I look like an idiot because I'm usually grinning as I'm SO in love with the session.  This does not mean I don't love every session I do, but getting outside to a new property and having a gorgeous sunset to work with just makes me wonderfully content (and apparently grinning like above mentioned idiot when editing).

With that said, I LOVE how Brian and Lane's engagement session turned out.  We have been trying to get these pictures taken for FOREVER.  Weather was not our friend for the first couple attempts, schedules could not be coordinated, and frankly, I wanted to be slightly picky with the kind of day we had.  I really envisioned a clear sky.  Luckily they were free Sunday, my mom was in town to watch Bug, and despite the mostly gloomy, pathetic day, 2 PM came around, the sun came out, and the evening ended up amazing!
