Summer baby studio session
I'd love to say welcome to the world Miss Amelia, but I'm SO incredibly behind blogging (we're talking years, here folks), that this isn't new news! We had to postpone the newborn session a bit because my entire family brought home Covid from Gulf Shores. However, we still managed to get a gorgeous session with a sleepy Amelia. Jessica knew exactly what she wanted for her summer baby, and we had so much fun planning and executing her studio session for her baby girl.
Since Amelia is a summer baby, so we brought ALL the colors into her studio session. We were able to utilize corals, mint, blues, and lavender and threw in a last minute a sweet profile backlit image to capture all those sweet little details that we all want to remember, but sleep makes them easy to forget.
As an extra bonus to having a studio session, we were able to incorporate her Grandma's love of plants into a super cute setup. Her Grandma owns and operates Regina’s Home Grown Nursery here in Decatur, Il!
Even though she was a tad older than my average newborn, she did every pose I attempted. The Froggie pose on the prop was especially new to HGP, so I took a gamble she’d be able to do the pose and it was a win! My favorite though is probably the prop with all of my studio plants surrounding her. I spent WAY too much time putting it together because I was so excited to be able to use my plant babies for such a special picture. It was one of mom’s favorite too (although we picked different angles as our favorites).
I so enjoyed working with Jessica throughout the entire process, from design meeting to delivering her final products. I personally can't wait to watch baby Amelia grow! Check out her gallery below to see how gorgeous everything turned out!

Here’s a post I did in early 2020 about older babies, for those that were worried about the pandemic affecting the ideal timeline. Turns out I was going to need it just a year and a half later for my own battle with the older newborns! Click here!
