The Maternity Session of Photographer’s Dreams

When Shynihsa told me she wanted her maternity session to focus on her baby belly, I was so excited.  All of the ideas she had were images I’ve been trying to do, but let’s face it- most of us aren’t wanting to go full bare belly for maternity pictures.   She was seven months pregnant last week for the session, and let me say, I’m not sure I looked that cute any time in my pregnancy.  I’m sure her little girl will be just as gorgeous as her momma.

Shynisha had every detail of her session planned out beautifully.  She had hair and makeup done before, as well as two outfits picked out.  I had found a flowy skirt I wanted to try out, and to top it off, I was able to use my maternity dress again I bought ages ago.  The poor girl roasted a bit because there’s a ton of material, but the pictures turned out amazing- don’t you think?  Luckily, what started out as a terrible day for pictures ended up being gorgeous, albeit warm and humid- especially when the sun came out.

Anyways, if you are planning a maternity, I strongly suggest you to pamper yourself the day of and get your hair and makeup done (might as well go for a date night afterwards :)).  I don’t think you’ll regret feeling beautiful and having a photographer capture that feeling while pregnant.  With every maternity session I do, I wish I had taken part in maternity pictures when I was pregnant with Gemma.

Remember September is pretty much BOOKED.  Between the 1912 Bridal Fair, two weddings, and a weekend getaway for my bestie and I, I’m booking solid into October already.  With those fall colors on the way, and a wedding on the books, it’ll be a month with few dates available too!
