What is the HGP Experience?

It's having a consistent process from first your inquiry to delivery of your final product.  It's making sure that every step of the way I'm here making the planning process fun, newborn session stress free, and your reveal downright breathtaking.

It looks like this: you've found out your pregnant.  There are SO many things to worry about right off the bat, amiright?  Getting established with your doc, ultrasounds, morning sickness help, figuring out maternity policies at your employer.  The first trimester is a whirlwind.

Frankly, it all will be.

The second trimester brings some relief and planning of the fun stuff.  The nursery, registering for your baby shower, finding cute maternity clothing and picking out a photographer- in comes  HGP!

The HGP experience!

There are tons of genres of photography to explore.  I know that newborn photography is not a one size fits all.  We provide and specialize in Maternity, Fresh 48, Studio sessions, and Lifestyle photography.  We know you've worked SO hard to create the home and nursery of your dreams, and we want to customize your session to meet those tastes.  But we're getting ahead of ourselves here... backing up!

First off all, visit our newborn gallery HERE, or visit our IG HERE, where you'll see my most recent work, a few pictures of yours truly, some older babies,  my kids, and a peek at my dog, but mostly really adorable, sweet babies.   Here you'll get an idea of our overall style and aesthetic: clean, simple, beautiful.

After that, hit that contact us button and drop us an inquiry.  I'll call within one business day so we can chat about your session.  Ideally, I meet you in the studio within the next few days so we can discuss the process further, you can see the products I offer, and explore the studio and all the customization options.  If you feel we're the perfect fit for your growing family at any point, a retainer gets your baby on the calendar (or whatever session you are choosing).

Once your retainer is paid, we're officially into the planning stage!  Whether its a maternity session and we need to purchase a certain color or style of gown, or we don't have a certain prop or color you'd love for your newborn session- we are absolutely willing to source these for your session.

Finally, your session is here!  Maternity sessions take place around the 30 week-ish mark, newborns take place around 24-36 hours (for Fresh 48), between seven and 20 days (studio session) and before the one month mark for Lifestyle sessions in your home.  With any of our sessions, our primary goal is your baby's safety and comfort.  With our studio newborn sessions, Samantha (my assistant) will be ever present and ensuring you and your baby have everything you need.

At the newborn session itself, you will literally not need to do anything but relax.  I welcome you to hover, sit back on the couch and relax, or crash out in the back room.  I've been told is a very comfortable bed (you would not be the first parents to catch a nap for a bit).

While in our studio we have gorgeous products for you to browse, snacks, chilled water, coffee/tea bar, diapers for babe for when they need to eat, a comfy bed to grab a nap if you so choose, and a space for you and older siblings to hang out and enjoy some one on one time.

Once your session is complete, a little bit of magic happens.  First, I somehow narrow a day of shooting to about 40-50 pictures for you to review the day of your reveal.  You and any decision makers will be treated to a gorgeous wall of prints of your baby for you to choose your favorites.  The reveal is where I'll help you decide and design art work for your home, pick pictures for heirloom prints and albums, and get excited about the gorgeous artwork heading your way in a few short weeks.

I know this is a significant investment; I don't take this lightly, hence why I try to deliver on the HGP experience every time.  I've been the new mom and worried about everything and anything.  My promise to you is I cherish and appreciate your faith in HGP and preserving this chapter of your story and want this to be as stress free and enjoyable as possible.  I look forward to working with you and your beautiful, growing family!
