Ross & Stefanie’s Maternity Session

Maternity photography is not a type of photography I do all the time. When I was pregnant, the last thing I could ever imagine doing was get in front of the camera, so I guess I have a silly stigma in my head that everyone is nuts like me (and I so wish I had pictures of that time in my life). Considering how much I love newborn photography, you’d think I’d do more maternity, and make a bigger effort to market it since they kind of go hand in hand. Luckily, Stefanie still sought me out and commissioned me for the session, and brought a ton of ideas to the table that I had fun photographing, and hope they love. In case it was going to rain, we had decided to start the session at their home and end at Rock Springs if the day allowed. Check out the gallery to see more of the images from the day.

I know I’ve said it before, but let me just say this again, PLEASE INCORPORATE YOUR PETS!!!! We all know I love animals (hello useless animal science degree). Jackson has been a part of the family for 8 years, and posed incredibly well for the pictures. Few things make me happier than to see your family pets involved in the session, or even featured, like Jackson was in a few! There may have been some bribery involved for cooperation, and a favorite toy. Maybe.

Despite the threat of rain (seriously, is it ever going to just stay summer?!) we had the most amazing evening. Rock Springs was gorgeous, albeit a tad warm, but it allowed us to get our session in without rushing. I hope you love your pictures, Stefanie & Ross, and can’t wait to hear of little guy’s arrival!Maternity Photography, Decatur Il photographer hiddengemphotography.com
