Matt & Rachael’s Wedding Day ~Decatur, Il Wedding Photographer~

I haven’t photographed a ton of weddings. My clients know this. Everyone must start somewhere though, so when I’m commissioned to be a wedding photographer, I feel privileged to be a huge part of such a special day. It’s such an honor to be present on such a momentous occasion. I love every minute of wedding days. Who doesn’t!?

Meet Rachael & Matt Williams. This bride LOVES everything related to the fourth of July, so it was appropriate when she decided on July 5, 2014 for her wedding. Rachael nailed every detail. Every. Single. One. Every time I turned around, there was an element of the day I felt needed forever remembered. Red, white, and blue elements garnished the church and reception hall while rustic elements brought her beloved family farm/pond into the mix. Needless to say, the day was gorgeous as the weather we were blessed with enjoying. Guests who know the couple well even seemed to dress in red, white or blue. Awesome.

Rachael & Matt were married at St. Mary’s in Assumption, Illinois, with the reception at Oak Terrace Resort in Pana, Illinois. For their portraits and bridal party pictures, we went to the family farm and a local residents barn painted Americana. At the farm, we used the pond, wheat field, Christmas tree farm, cabin, and with only a mild heart attack on my part, some contraption that I’m assuming moved hay. I had images of the whole bridal party tipping over. I was relieved when everyone’s feet where back on solid ground. Whew!

So, please, head over to the gallery, and see a compilation of the day (more to be added later). I’ll be posting their engagement sessions in the near future as those are some of my favorite sessions!

In case I missed saying this, thank you Matt & Rachael for allowing me to photograph your wedding. My sincere hope is that you will enjoy your images for years to come.
