Ok, so technically, it’s not quite on Lake Taylorville, but seriously, it’s close enough. To say the Oesch’s have a gorgeous property, especially for a family session is an understatement.
I’ve known Clint and Lindsey for about eight years now. It seems like I photographed half of the Moweaqua peeps’ weddings and whatnot for a few years and he was in a bunch of them- if not all- so he was photographed a lot in those few years!
One day I needed a pony fix and Lindsey volunteered her and her gorgeous paint, Lexi for the session and a photography friendship was born based around babies and ponies and pictures (she was preggers with Landon the first time I photographed her and Lex).
I did Camden’s newborn session last year, and it was beyond time for his first birthday session. Fortunately, Lindsey trusted me when I begged to wait for the right day. The right temps (because what husband wants to take pictures in 90+ degree heat) and the right light (because I’m high maintenance AF and wanted pretty light).
I think we started planning in April, and we literally had to wait until the end of July to get the day of my… I mean Lindsey’s dreams.
They seriously had the prettiest light and setting on their property. I would probably live there if they’d let me. I mean, her barn has an extra stall- so I could camp there right?
When we finally got the day we were waiting for, the stars aligned. To give you a snippet of how the evening went (like every other session with a toddler):
Me: Camden, Boo! I seeeeee you!
Me: Landon, where are my eyes?
Samantha: Boys! Look here!
Me: Moooooooooooo
Me: Peek a boo! *clucks like a chicken*
Samantha: *clapping behind my head*
Jen: Ahhh… Ahhhhh… Ahhhhccchhhooooo!
Samantha: *doing jumping jacks behind me*
Then, I realized pretty late in the game that Camden is a pretty bright 14 month old when he understood the concept of pressing the button to the shutter on my camera. I let him do this a few times for some engagement and then on a whim I tried:
Me: Camden, say cheeessseeee!
Oh my goodness, you little sh*t had that smile in you the entire time and just busted it out now, completely on command. Samantha was dripping at this point from running around playing with him so much.
Anyways, Clint & Lindsey, you have a beautiful family and are doing an amazing job raising your boys. I’m so honored you trust me with your family pictures and hope you love the pictures for years to come. I can’t wait to see where they hang in your house!
There is still plenty of summer left, if you have made it this far in the blog post I’d love to chat with you about the family session of your dreams. Contact me HERE to get the ball rolling!
