It’s no secret that newborn sessions are some of my favorite sessions. I get even more excited when the newborn’s mommy that comes to see me is one of my brides from last year. I photographed Keli and Marcus’ wedding on a gorgeous afternoon with just closest family present. It was a perfect day, and their love and joy was contagious!
Kole was a tad older than the typical newborn you’ll see in my studio. Typically, newborn sessions are done between four and 14 days. We got Kole in when he was a few days shy of four weeks. Turns out three weekers are amazing sleepers and he ROCKED his whole session. Literally. The little dude slept the whole time. We could barely get him awake enough to eat so his belly would be full. Keli may have mentioned he kept her up a significant part of the night- thus basically passing out for the duration of his session, but we’ll just say I have the magic touch (lol). Check out Kole’s images in the gallery.
While we strive for smiles every session, sometimes they don’t happen, especially if we’re going to wake up babe in the process of trying to get one. Kole? Well, Kole cracked two adorable smiles during the session. Heart. Melts. Not only did he smile a few times (I’m sure it’s because he likes me so much) but when I rolled him into the next position, he curled up, laid his hand out, and went back to snoozin’. I’ve never had a baby curl into pose before (technically, his little feet were switched, but I didn’t want to jinx our good luck). How adorable does he look all squished up!
Keli & Marcus, thank you for having me photograph another milestone in your lives together. I hope you guys love the pictures of your little guy. I can’t wait until the next time he’s in my studio!
In case anyone is unaware, I’m based in Decatur, Il. My studio is technically in Warrensburg, but I’m right by the school, so I promise it’s not far- and well worth the drive. My chair is super comfy for you momma’s that need a break while I photograph your gorgeous babes 🙂
