Going through the wedding planning with Jessica & Alex, I knew their wedding day was going to be one for the books.  And they still blew me away.  Mostly because of how palpable their love for each other is to everyone who attended their wedding.

I knew instantly that I needed to be the photographer for Jessica & Alex’s wedding day from our initial consult.  Especially when we started discussing where they would like their engagement session.  At a barn.  With her horse, Alvin.  I mean, seriously.  Can they adopt me?  Just kidding, kind of.  Then the week before their outdoor wedding they threw in they’re sealing their vows with a shot.

It was clear at their engagement session that Alex and Jessica had a certain chemistry that just spoke of their love.  Looking at their pictures, you can tell that they cherish and adore each other.  They have some amazing examples of love and marriage in their family.  This couple won the anniversary dance with over SIXTY years of marriage under their belts.  Aren’t they the sweetest?  I swear they laughed like newlyweds!

Anyways, at our initial consult, we discuss a lot of the details.  One of the first things that most couples decide on after the vendors is if they’re going to wait until the ceremony to see each other or do a first look.  Jessica left that decision to Alex, and his reaction was priceless and perfect when he saw his bride for the first time walking down the aisle.  BEST reaction from a groom to date.  I’m so glad they decided to wait until she was walking down the aisle to see each other for the first time.

On wedding day we made the decision to stay on the Homestead property rather than load up the bridal party and go elsewhere.  It was the best decision ever.  The property literally had everything we could need for bridal portraits, we just had a look around a little bit.  We found the prettiest locations, and once you add in a newly married, totally in love Alex and Jessica, my job becomes pretty easy.
