Bring on 2016

End of year posts are never easy to convey how I’m feeling.  You guys will never find an eloquent (or succinct) writer in me.  All I can say is thank you.  Thank you so much for your support, suggestions, feedback, and patronage.  I know there are literally a hundred other local photographers you could go to, but you chose me (or hopefully are reading this and considering hitting that contact page :)).

This year has been a huge learning curve.  Once my house hit max capacity for what it could hold, my husband and I decided it was time to open a studio and reclaim our “back room”, garage, storage unit, etc…  While having the living space back has been amazing with an active two year old, having the new studio has been extremely intimidating.  I only hope and pray that 2016 is as blessed as 2015 was, and I’m sure we’ll be fine.

As much as this year was a huge change, this upcoming year will be also.  First of all, if you are not a personal friend of mine or current client on Facebook, you might have not heard that Dan and I are expecting baby number 2!!!  Gemma will be a big sister at the end of June/beginning of July.  There is nothing I wanted more than to give Gemma a sibling, so I’m thrilled to be able to share this news with you all.  I’d love to say she’s just as excited, but really, she got to throw around confetti and balloons.  Who wouldn’t have fun!

Moving forward with big changes in my personal life means I’m keeping it simple with my professional life.  Things are pretty much staying the same with HGP.  I’m working to focus mainly on newborns and weddings.  I have found I love these two types of photography the most, and can’t wait to see where my growth takes me.  Obviously, I’ll still be photographing your little ones, family and maternity sessions, plus whatever fun ideas you guys come up with, but just know that newborn photography and especially outdoor wedding photography are were my biggest pursuits are this coming year.

As promised, I lacked any ability of brevity, so if you’ve made it this far, show me some love in the comments, will you?  I could not be more excited for the arrival of this little one, but I’d love to hear my followers hear me when I say, I really, am truly scared sh*tless!  Two kids, a full time small business, and a husband that works and fishes more than he doesn’t 😉 .  What’s to be nervous about?!?!?!?!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Love & blessings, Jen
