An adorably successful newborn session

Keys to an adorably successful newborn session?  I’ll let you know when I figure it out (I’m kidding).  However, when we do a newborn session, I’ll send you over a thorough packet of information (or we’ll go over this in the pre-consultation) on how best to prepare for the session to make it as successful as possible.  It starts with keeping your babe awake for a bit before the session (easy peasy, right?!), and knowing that no matter what, we’ll get amazing images of your newborn.  Secondly, I’ll send you a questionnaire that ensure your session goes as smoothly as possible for everyone involved and customizes your session to your tastes.

But rule #1?  Don’t stress.  Please.

I want this to be an easy and enjoyable experience.  I know photography sessions can be stressful.  Kids might hate their younger siblings (so we might have to meet again in a few weeks after the “adjustment period”) or dads might hate having pictures taken (I promise to move quickly, and get them out of the studio as quickly as possible, before this happens).  No matter what moms, please try and sit back, relax, and enjoy watching your little one curl up into beautiful poses that you’ll enjoy having for years to come.

Brooks Edward

Mr. Brooks came to me completely asleep upon arrival to eyes wide open… for over an hour.  While he wasn’t making a peep, he clearly wasn’t ready for sleepy poses.  Nor was he even cool with being wrapped- even with two professional newborn photographers attempting a wrap.  He was busting out, no ifs, ands, or buts. Content? Yes.  Posed? No.  Eventually, he completely knocked off (they all do), and busted out some of the sweetest smiles I’ve ever gotten out of a newborn.

An adorably successful newborn session

If you missed the Facebook post, Brooks’ daddy passed away a little over a month before his due date.    Life is hard.  Newborns and toddlers are hard.  Doing all of these without your spouse?  Well, Lauren needs your thoughts and prayers as she takes on parenting a toddler and a newborn and life in general without her other half.
